Default Life kicks me in the balls yet again

Well I've dislocated my sholder again and am out of work yet again.....sigh******* dont know if they will hold my job for me or not, they need someone there to work on stuff and a one armed mechanic doesnt fit the bill.
I might need surgery as this is second time this has happened in just over a year.
so if I dissapear its because I couldnt pay my internet.
Iwas awoken screaming @3:30am tuesday morning with sholder out of socket with no idea why, I guess it didnt heal properly last time I dislocated it when i fell off pool ladder Aug/01/06.
I've just gotten back to work from a back injury 2 months ago and now this has come along just as I was just getting cought up with bills.
I'm not asking for any help but will be selling a few of my RC's to try to cover a few bills to keep me and my family going.

I'm not begging here so dont take this the wrong way.
Larry

Well its been weak since i was a kid like 15.
crashed a bmx bike onroad @ around 45mph and broke collar bone in 2 places.
its gone out and popped rite back in many times over the years from such things as walking on my hands to diving in the water.
In Aug of 06 climbing out of my above ground pool i slipped and landed wrong pop it went out and stayed out for the first time ever.
Man that hurts!!!!!! Mine pops out kind of from what doctors tell me is backwards from normal and will probably require surgery.
I wasnt even doing anything when it popped out this time I Was Asleep.

EDIT: I HATE SLINGS CANT SLEEP!!!!!!!

Default Possible Quick Fix

Hang in there! If I may offer some help since I've got some extensive experience in this area... I blew my shoulder out a few years ago and by 2005, it had gotten to the point where it would dislocate all of the time. The Doc called it "shoulder instability" and ordered surgery. He did what's called a "bankart repair" on it and rehab lasted a total of six month's (yet back to work after 30 days). Six month's after the surgery, I fell off a ladder and basically undid what had been fixed. Keep in mind that I'm active duty Navy w/ 18 years in and can't afford to be placed on limited duty again, otherwise they'll medically retire me and I don't want that. So, I started doing some research and found this:

http://www.painreliever.com/sully_shoulder.html

It's lifesaver! If I'm doing something that might pop my shoulder out, I throw it on. If my shoulder pops out, I wear it until the pain stops. It used to take 2 to 3 weeks for me to be able to use my shoulder after it popped out. Now if it pops, I put it on and recovery and mobility takes about 4 days to come back! I'm pleased to say that's it's been almost 18 month's since anything has happened. The only place I can't move my arm is straight up (12 o'clock). If you've got any questions, send 'em this way & I'll help you any way I can!

R/ Tom

Thanks for the info I'll be checking into weather my insurance would cover one of those looks like it would be good preventitive medicine for the future.
I go for a MRI on tuesday to see if surgery will be needed, I'm kind of thinking that will be a yes ....SIGH.
But on a better note my boss said I'm to valuable of a mechanic to lose and is going to put me on light duty even though I did'nt get hurt at work.
I'll be cleaning and painting untill my sholder is strong enough to be able to do my job again.
I'm a mechanic at a Kubota dealership by the way.

Thanks again for the info
Larry

You bet! I doubt the insurance will pick up the tab on the brace though. I wasn't real happy about spending the money on it either ($240 when I bought mine). You brought back some memories when you said it popped out while you were sleeping! I feel your pain! If you wear it while you're sleeping, you won't even need the sling!

Well I dont know if insurance will cover it or not but they covered a stupid $70.00 pillow at my chyropractors I didnt even ask for.
I tried it for 2 weeks figured I'd really give it a chance and I give up on it after last night my neck was killing me.
They seem to be into the preventitive med as much as the needed attension I've been getting.
I will defenatly be mentioning it to my doctor on my next visit.
If its not covered I might have to come up with the almost $200.00 to get one.
