Ok so your new to RC

Well the first thing your going to have to do is familiarize youself with your radio.

For this tutorial I'll use a Traxxas TQ 2 channel radio, reason comes with most RTR (ready to run) Traxxas cars and trucks.
This is what the TQ radio looks like.

To start out I'll show you what everything is and what it does.

Antenna

Extend your antenna before using your radio.

Power Switch.

Turn this on before turning your car on.

Next we move to the functions of your new radio

Steering:
turn wheel counter clockwize your car will turn LEFT

With the power on on your car wheels should turn left.

Turn wheel clockwize turn RIGHT

Wheels on car should look like this.

Now let go and wheels should go straight and look some what like this.

Throttle:
When you pull the trigger you car should go frontwards.
The further back you pull it the faster your car should go.

Brake/Reverse:
When you push on the trigger your car will brake or go in reverse depending on What type of speed control you have.
On a nitro car it would be brake.

Servo Reversing Switches:
What these do is reverse the throw of your servos or change your electronic speed control function.
Say you turn your wheel clockwize which should make your wheels to the right and they turn left, move the steering servo reversing switch and this should corect this problem.
Same with if you pull throttle and car goes in reverse move throttle reversing switch to correct this problem.

Steering Trim:
If your car seems to track to the left or right rather than going straight.
Adjust the steering trim to correct this problem.

Throttle Trim:
If your car creeps or brakes when you release the throttle you would need to adjust the throttle trim to find neutral to correct this problem.

Throttle Limiter:
(This function is not on all brands of radio and is only explained because it is on this radio.)
What this does is changes the throw on the throttle trigger.
Has 2 settings 70/30 and 50/50.
Most new users use the 70/30 as it gives more throw to the trigger giving more control of the throttle, more advanced users usually use the 50/50 setting because it gives quicker responce and less throw to the throttle trigger.

This last function is only avaliable on 3 channel radios and is a different radio from the radio shown in the rest of the tutorial.
TQ3 radio found on nitro cars and trucks with reverse.
This function is used to change from forwards to reverse or visa versa only after coming to a complete stop before flicking this switch.

This tutorial is using the Traxxas TQ and TQ3 radios many other brands have many different options, some more some less.
This is not a replacement for you manual that came with YOUR radio.
This is just a guide to help you understand the basic functions of about any pistol grip radio.
Thanks
